After alot of serious contemplation I've decided to give '...But is it Love?' to Bruno (Danz's dad...really inspiring expressionist painter...my mentor *grins*) when he leaves to go back up to Coro. That was really hard to decide coz I think it's the best thing I've ever done on a technical scale...but because of that it's also a bit intimidating. It hulks on my desk and makes me believe that it was just a fluke and my next painting's gonna be crap again...which is partly the reason I havn't done a proper canvas painting since. Too scared. Which is ridiculous...but at least its given me the time to be able to experiment with some scrap paintings and concepts (now Sam has all of them...the blood appealed to him. Of course). Bruno believes two of the most key components of being an artist/painter are:
1. Never stop sketching. Even if they're crap it's all practise, making you better technically...and experimenting with concepts, even if they don't work.
2. Be honest and open with yourself.
Fairly obvious...but still well worth sharing
I've got a photography thing coming up with a guy from Pats...he's a really amazing, amazing technical artist and I'm really excited
Love you my nefarious muses
